MSA’s COVID-19 Response & Updates

The outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic has disrupted and changed life as we know it.  Although we continue to hope for the best, it’s evident that new protocols and safety measures must be put into effect for the health and safety of our team members, our families, our customers, and society as a whole.

At Magnet-Schultz, we too have made changes and implemented safety measures for the well-being of our team members, customers and suppliers.  Recognized as an essential business in the state of Illinois, Magnet-Schultz of America (MSA) is continuing operations in order to support our customers in various industries including: Healthcare/Medical, Power Utility, Transportation, Agriculture and Food Service all of which help to provide essential services to the general public.  While doing so, we have adopted a “work from home” policy for team members with job responsibilities that can be fulfilled remotely, while continuing to manufacture and ship products from our site with only essential employees whose job responsibilities cannot be fulfilled remotely. On-site team members follow additional cleanliness procedures on manufacturing equipment and in the work cell area, while continuing the practice of good hygiene in the workplace and following social distancing measures established in each work cell and between team members on site.  Additional sanitizing and cleaning practices have been implemented throughout the facility.

An additional significant way in which MSA is contributing to address COVID-19 directly is by joining a consortium known as the Chicagoland Respirator Consortium (CRC) with seven additional Chicagoland manufacturers.  These premier/expert manufacturers have all joined forces to provide accelerated manufacturing support for ventilator products needed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

MSA’s first new coil samples for these ventilators were designed, built and shipped in 72 hours this week. Official production of coils is expected to commence immediately.

MSA is committed to continuing this effort and fully supporting our customers in these unprecedented and rapidly changing times.  We’re in this together and only together can we make a difference in our communities and the world at large.
